Hephaestus Unexpected
After 2000 years the crippled Greek god Hephaestus escapes from Mt. Olympus and finds himself on a farm in present day Iowa. Deciding it's as good a place as any to search for a beautiful wife to replace his former unfaithful Aphrodite, he is surprised to find the farm is owned by a single woman of average appearance. Grace, as a career minded woman is not what Heph is looking for, but he can't stop thinking about her.
Grace Wokowski is only months away from realizing her lifelong dream of becoming a tenured professor at a large university, if she can just keep her past as supermodel, Summer Reston, a secret that much longer. Brenna MacKenzie, the MacKenzie Giant, is blessed/cursed with a sixth-sense which warns her when she or someone she loves is in serious danger. This makes her a successful swords-woman because she knows where her opponent will strike next. With this ability, she is able to step in as Laird after her brother is captured by the English; however, she has to keep her "sense" a secret to retain the respect of her clan. Dressed as a man, she meets The Wolf in a raid where they manage to wound each other. But when The Wolf captures her while still on MacKenzie lands, she realizes she must escape before her growing attraction to him causes her to betray her own people.
Rannoch MacLeod, or The Wolf, is known for his prowess on the battlefield and his distrust of "ladies" which his mother cultivated through her own betrayals. Though he is known as a man with no king, he is secretly amassing an army for The Bruce (The Lion of Scotland). He determines the best way to honorably avoid marriage to the MacKenzie Giant is to make her despise him. Unfortunately, he knows nothing of the prophecy his mother discovered or that his endeavors to resist Brenna could leave the prophecy unfulfilled and Scotland without a King.

Jamie MacLeod is the King's eyes. Known as the Owl, he travels alone mixing with the crofters, using his unique ability to move without sound to infiltrate the most dangerous places. While attracted to the MacKinnon lass, he will do nothing to disappoint his father or his King. But as he spends more time with this complicated woman he finds himself getting closer to her even as his trust in her diminishes.
Kerrera MacKinnon is the King's Marchat (feline). Her unique ability to see in the dark allows her to eliminate some of the King's toughest enemies, but when her secret is discovered by the enemy, she is forced to choose between her family and her country.
